iMessage? Here's How You Can Turn Off iMessage On iPhone

Follow these steps to deactivate iMessage on your iPhone/iPad.

For those who are loyal customers of Apple, the system’s messaging app. dubbed iMessage, is nothing but their best choice when communicating and sharing diversified data between Apple users. 

However, once one decides to put an end to their ecosystem’s usage, Apple notices that the person has stopped all the SMS and MMS services. Therefore, in order to begin a new one on another messaging server, users should turn their iMessage to inactive mode first. By doing that, they can receive new SMSs from people who are using iMessages.

Here is the detailed guideline for you with the aim of instructing customers on how to deactivate iMessage. But first, you have to make sure that your device’s internet connection and your Apple ID are ready to start doing the process below:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Find Messages, then turn the slider off
  3. Repeat the manipulation with Facetime

When you have finished, try to open the Message app to send some texts to your acquaintances in the contact and keep track of the green bubble. Besides, provided that you intend to change to another system, remember to do this task in advance because the time needed to inform the server may last for several days. 

In the case of having moved to another system or having had an ineffective process, you can try these ways:

  1. Access the link: ‘http://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage” from any available internet browser. 
  2. Find the “No longer have your iPhone?” option and tap on it. 
  3. Enter the phone number of your previous active device and click on the "Send Code" button.
  4. Enter the code which is sent to your phone, then wait for the confirmation notification.
