Xiaomi Mi Play With Helio P35 SoC, Dual Rear Camera Released: Specs, Price

Xiaomi just launched the Xiaomi Mi Play with MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, dual camera setup and a Full-HD+ display in the Chinese market.

Xiaomi has had a very good run in this year, and it seems like it wants to end 2018 on a high note with its Xiaomi Play. Today, Xiaomi released the Xiaomi Mi Play which is most likely to last Xiaomi’s phone to launch this year. It’s an affordable gaming phone with a water-drop notch. The smartphone also has a gradient finish at the back on top of a glass-like finish.
Xiaomi Mi Play: Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi Mi Play features a 5.84-inch Full-HD+ screen with a 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio and a water-drop notch accommodating a selfie shooter and other sensors. The phone also offers some screen modes such as the luminous screen, eye protection, and sunscreen.
Under the hood, there is be an octa-core Helio P35 processor powering the phone, coupled with IMG GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM/64GB expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB).
In the camera department, the new Xiaomi phone will be packed with a dual rear camera, comprising of a 12MP main sensor and also a 2MP depth sensor. The phone will also have some AI-powered features like noise reduction, auto HDR and scene detection. On the front, there will be an 8MP sensor with support for Face ID system and AI portrait mode. Users can unlock the phone with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi phone has Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB-C.
The Xiaomi Mi Play will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, and run Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10.
Xiaomi Mi Play: Price and Availability
Xiaomi offers the Mi Play at a price of 1,099 RMB, which is around Rs. 11,500. The phone will come in three color variants which are Black, Twilight Gold and Fantasy Blue, but there will be only one sing variant with 4GB RAM/64GB storage. Furthermore, Xiaomi will sell the Xiaomi Mi Play in its offline store in China from 10 am on 25 December. However, there is no information relating to the release date in the Indian market.
