Honor is about to start 2019 with a new smartphone release in the next week, and this phone should be the Honor 8A, according to a teaser poster of Honor shared on Weibo. As suggested by its name, this upcoming Honor phone will be Honor 7A’s successor.

This is not the first time we have heard of the Honor 8A as it was already spotted passing Wi-Fi Alliance certification on December last year. Its main specs and features were revealed on the TENAA listing as well. Based on previous leaks, the Honor 8A should be launched in the budget smartphone segment.
Honor 8A: Expected specifications and features
As revealed on the TENAA listing, this upcoming dual-SIM Honor 8A most likely has 156.28×73.5x8mm dimensions and a weight of 150g. The phone is expected to feature a 6.09-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a 720 x 1,560 pixels resolution, a tall aspect ratio, and a dew-drop notch as shown on the latest render courtesy of Droud Shout. It will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC.

The device is likely to come in two variants with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 3GB RAM/64GB storage, and its storage can be expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot. In the camera department, the handset will feature a single 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.8, PDAF and 1080p video recording @ 30fps, lacking a 2MP secondary sensor for taking portrait photos like on the Honor 7A. There will be an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0 on the front.
Under the hood, there will be a 3,050 mAh battery, and it is expected to run EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie. The poster on Weibo also suggests that the phone will come packed a dual-speaker for a better audio experience. The latest render already shows that the phone will come in at least two color options which are Black and Blue. Previous leaks have also hinted at two more colour variants including Red and Gold. The back of the Honor 8A also seems to have a glossy finish, so it should be built with plastic instead of metal like on the Honor 7A.
The Honor 7A was released in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 8,999 so the Honor 8A should also be launched around that price range.
