Full Specifications Of Upcoming Oppo A5s Were Leaked Online

Chinese phone maker Oppo just launched its budget Oppo A5 in July 2018. Now, we have just known that the Chinese company is set to release a successor to the last year’s Oppo A5 in the recent future. As you can see the above render (in courtesy of MySmartPrice), the upcoming A5s will have an almost identical look to the Oppo A7 which was released in November last year.

The handset will sport 6.2-inch HD+ LCD panel with a water-drop on top, a 1,520 x 720p resolution, and an aspect ratio of 19:9. In terms of hardware, the Oppo A5s will likely pack an MTK Helio P35 SoC built on 12nm process and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In comparison, the last year’s Opo A5 is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC built on a 14nm processor. Another difference between the two is the memory configuration. While the Oppo A5 only came in a single option with 4GB RAM/64GB storage, Oppo offers a few more variants to users. They can choose an Oppo A5s with 2GB / 3GB / 4GB of RAM as well as 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

In terms of camera, the Opo A5s will pack similar setup to its predecessor. At the back, it will come with a 13MP f/2.2 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 secondary shooter. Up front, there will be a single 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and video calling. Battery life is another similar aspect between the two. The battery capacity of the Opo A5s and Oppo A5 is both 4,230 mAh. However, the Oppo A5s should have a slightly better battery life compared to that of its predecessor due to the fact that the Helio P35 SoC may help the handset to utilize the battery better.

For security, while the Oppo A5 only comes with a Facial Recognition feature, the new A5s will not only have that but also comes with a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear. The A5s’ dimensions are 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.2mm with a 170g in weight. Questionably, the phone will not run the latest Android 9 Pie at launch, but instead, it will only come with the dated Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s Color OS 5.2 on top. The phone will come in a total of four colour options, Green, Black, Gold, and Red.
