4G is now the thing of the past as 5G is already here. As the leading smartphone vendor in India, Xiaomi has wasted no time in introducing the country’s first 5G-enabled handset, the Mi Mix Alpha. The phone is now available at selected Mi Homes in the country.
Yesterday, a Twitter post of Xiaomi India teased the launch of the Mi Mix Alpha at Indiranagar, Bengaluru and Embassy Tech Village. After that, interested customers can purchase the phone at other outlets across the country.

Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is now the very first 5G smartphone to be released in the country. Besides having the latest technology in digital cellular networks, the phone also has a disruptive design with ONE display that extends from front to back.
As the display now in the place of the side frames, users can check for information and status there. The phone also has air quality and humidity sensors to offer you the most accurate information possible.
The surrounding display of Mi Mix Alpha is made possible thanks to the layered lamination technology. Other cool features are the display acoustic technology for improved sound experience and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The highlight of this handset besides the 5G-enabling feature is the 108 MP ultra-high-resolution camera. The triple camera setup consists of an S5K2L7 12MP telephoto snapper, an IMX350 20MP wide-angle camera, and an HMX 12032 x 9024 ultra-high resolution snapper.
The phone is encased in an Aerospace-grade Titanium Alloy body, which is reportedly three-time more durable than stainless steel. The durability is increased with the sapphire glass and precision ceramic.
The Mi Mix Alpha draws power from a 4050 mAh battery and it also has support for 40W wired fast charging. Other specs include RAM of 12GB, Snapdragon 855 chipset, and UFS3.0 512 GB storage.
