Vivo X50 was launched together with X50 Pro and was overshadowed by its sibling. Regardless, it still shares with its sibling the “X” factor with a lower starting price. Vivo X50 price in India starts at Rs 34,990 while Vivo X50 Pro price is Rs 49,990. Should people who can’t spend Rs 50,000 on a smartphone choose this smartphone? The answer is yes. But in the Indian smartphone market with so many competitors, sometimes good isn’t good enough. The Vivo X50 is good but isn’t excellent.

Vivo X50 Design, Display, And Software
With the X50, there are two colors to choose from, Frost Blue and Glaze Black. On the front, you have an all-screen design with a punch hole to house the selfie camera, guaranteeing an immersive experience. One of the best things about this smartphone is the thin bezels at the bottom, not the remaining three sides.
Meanwhile, at the back, you will have a quad-camera setup placed vertically. There is a flash accompanying the module. The only other thing left is Vivo’s branding. Although the setup juts out a little bit, the phone won’t wobble when you place it on the table. On the right side are the power switch and the volume button. On the bottom are a speaker grille, the SIM tray, and the USB Type-C port.
Despite having a large display, at 173g, the smartphone doesn’t feel bulky at all. It is also quite thin as well.
The Vivo X50 features a 6.56-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is ideal for reading ebooks, streaming movies, or playing games. You don’t have to worry about viewing the screen outdoor as it is bright enough.
Vivo X50 Hardware
The Vivo X50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset with a 1.8GHz Hexa-core chip and a 2.2GHz dual-core chip, ensuring a perfect balance between efficiency and power. The smartphone has 8GB of RAM so that it can easily handle multiple apps. As you can expert, the performance is lag-free. With Adreno 618 GPU, the gaming experience is enjoyable. So you can play heavy games like Call of Duty or PUBG for hours without any issue.
The X50 offers 128GB of internal storage. However, this can’t be expandable since the smartphone doesn’t have a microSD card slot.
However, even the Poco X2 that only costs Rs 17,499 uses the same chipset as the Vivo X50. In a market where brands have become obsessed with specifications, this is Vivo’s serious failure.
Vivo X50 Camera
The smartphone has a great camera setup. The main camera is 48MP and compared to the more expansive Vivo X50 pro, the Vivo X50 manages to produce identical color reproduction. The pictures that are taken during broad daylight have accurate colors and excellent dynamic range.
The main camera is accompanied by a 5MP macro camera. An 8MP super wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
The optical result of the X50 is similar to that of the X50 Pro. Vivo allows you to take portraits using the main camera. However, the 2x telephoto lens is set as default. The super wide-angle lens is fine but it isn’t of much use. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera.
In terms of videos, the Vivo X50 can take up at 4K videos at 30fps.
Vivo X50 Battery
The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 10 layered with Funtouch OS, its custom skin. This means that you will have a range of pre-loaded apps like i Manager, V-Appstore, and more.
The X50 sports a 4,200mAh battery. The smartphone can easily last a whole day. Even under heavy usage, users won’t have to charge the phone before a day ends, which is pretty impressive. When you need to charge the phone, there is a flash charge functionality with which you can charge the smartphone faster with a 33W adapter that comes inside the box.
