Vivo has unveiled several smartphones this year which equipped premium features to mid-range devices. Its latest V15 Pro and V15 smartphones have many interesting features such as 32MP pop-up front-facing cameras, a triple rear camera setup, and on-screen fingerprint scanner (in the Pro variant). But that does not mean Vivo no longer focuses on the affordable segment. This brand unveiled smartphones such as the Y91i and the Y81i at affordable prices. Currently, the company is likely to double down on its sub-Rs. 10,000 segment in India, as per a Vivo executive.
Accordingly, the company will unveil a new Vivo U lineup of affordable smartphones in this country in the coming time, possibly in May. These devices will be taking on the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment in the country. It is known that Vivo unveiled the new U smartphone series in the Chinese market in February. The first smartphone in the lineup is the Vivo U1 with a dewdrop screen, a big battery, and a dual rear camera setup at an affordable price. It is likely that the first U-series smartphone in the Indian market will have two variants with prices of Rs. 8,490 and Rs. 6,490.
In addition, the Chinese company is said to launch the first Android Go smartphone in this lineup in the Indian market in the coming time.

The above-mentioned information was revealed by Nipun Marya, Country Head of Vivo India a few weeks ago. He said that the company is a full-spectrum player in the Indian market and will still offer smartphones in different pricing segments here. With the large volumes in the sub-Rs. 10,000 segment, it is expected that the phone maker will pay a special attention to this segment in India.
Regarding the specs and features of the Vivo U1 smartphone, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with 3G RAM and 32GB storage. It sports a 6.2-inch LCD display with 1,520 x 720-pixel resolution. In the imaging department, the phone has two rear cameras including a 13MP main lens and a 2MP lens. It also boasts an 8MP front-facing lens. Ultimately, it is powered by a 4,030mAh battery.
