Chinese phone maker Vivo has recently announced the Vivo X27 and Vivo X27 Pro in the Chinese market. The two mid-range offerings from the company both sport an AMOLED panel with a pop-up front camera, on-screen fingerprint sensor and also triple rear camera setup. At the event, Vivo was also expected to introduce its Vivo S series, but that did not happen up until now. The Chinese company has just announced the first phone under the new Vivo S series called Vivo S1 in China.
Vivo S1: Price
The handset will be up for sale in the Chinese market from 1 April. The Vivo S1 is priced at CNY 2,298 (around Rs. 23,600). It will come in two colour variants which are Pet Pink and Ice Lake Blue. The Vivo S1 is said to be the rebranded model of the recently-launched Vivo V15, which has already come to the Indian market for Rs. 23,990.
Vivo S1: Specs & Features
The phone sports a notch-free 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a 2,340 x 1,080p resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 90.05% screen-to-body ratio thanks to the pop-up selfie camera. Under the hood, powering the handset is an MTK Helio P70 chipset with 6GB of RAM/128GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD slot. As for software, it ships with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 9.0 at launch, which is based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
In the imaging department, the phone sports a triple rear camera system, including a 12MP main sensor, an 8MP secondary wide-angle camera, and a third 5MP depth sensor. Up front, it comes with a 24.8MP pop-up selfie camera supported by AI Face Beauty feature that is claimed to be able to identify 103 basic facial features. As mentioned, the Vivo S1 is said to be the rebranded model of the Vivo V15, but it has a 24.8MP selfie camera while Vivo goes for a 32MP front snapper on the V15.
Powering the phone is a 3,940mAh cell with support for 18W fast charging powered by the company’s Dual Engine charging tech.
