Last month, the Chinese company Vivo announced its Vivo V15 Pro in the Indian market. And now, it unveiled a toned-down model of the V15 Pro, called Vivo V15. This new handset still has quite a lot of features in common with the Vivo V15 Pro, notably the pop-up selfie camera. If you want to experience the pop-up selfie camera with an affordable price, the Vivo V15 is a great choice for you. In this comparison, we will show you what the differences between the two are.
Vivo V15 vs. Vivo V15 Pro: Price
Vivo V15 is priced at Rs. 23,990 for the sole variant with 4GB RAM/64GB of storage. It will be up for sale from 1 April and come in Glamour Red, Black, and Royal Blue color options. You can pre-order the phone from 25 March via Flipkart, Vivo website and Amazon.in.
As for the Vivo V15 Pro, the single option with 6GB RAM/128GB storage costs Rs. 28,990. It is already up for sale via both offline and online channels. It comes in two color options, including Ruby Red and Topaz Blue.

So, let’s see what the cutdowns that Vivo goes for on the Vivo V15 compared to the Vivo V15 Pro are. While the Vivo V15 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 675 SoC, the Vivo V15 is powered by an MTK Helio P70 SoC. As for the memory configuration, the V15 Pro has a higher 6GB RAM/128GB storage compared to 4GB RAM/64GB storage on the V15. Users can both expand the storage via a microSD card slot. Overall, it is no doubt that the V15 Pro will be faster than the new non-Pro model.
Besides having a less powerful processor as well as storage and RAM, the V15 also comes with a physical fingerprint scanner on the rear instead of an on-screen fingerprint sensor on the Pro model. That is not a big of a deal if you are not a person who really want to experience new features. The physical fingerprint scanner is slightly faster and more accurate compared to the one embedded under the display. Moreover, the V15 Pro only has a 3,700 mAh battery while the V15 is backed with a larger 4,000 mAh cell.
As for the display, the V15 is surprisingly better than the V15 Pro in this aspect. The new one sports a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ Full-view screen in comparison with the 6.39-inch Full-HD+ panel on the V15 Pro. Moreover, the non-Pro model not only has bigger display but also have a Super AMOLED panel compared to the worse LCD display on the Vivo V15 Pro. The LCD panel is commonly known to deliver worse brightness and color reproduction compared to the Super AMOLED one.
In the imaging department, both of the handsets come with a triple camera setup with the Vivo V15 Pro having a better setup over the standard one. To be more specific, while the Pro version sports a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor with a telephoto lens, and a 5MP third depth sensor. The 48MP sensor in the V15 Pro is a Samsung GM1 sensor along with Quad Bayer array tech. Meanwhile, the triple rear camera system on the Vivo V15 includes a 12MP main sensor with an 8MP sensor with an ultra wide-angle camera and 5MP depth sensor. Up front, both of the phones come with a 32MP pop-up selfie camera.
Both of them run FunTouch OS 5.0 which is based on Android 9 Pie. Vivo still keeps the headphone jack on both of them. At the bottom, they both come with a dated micro-USB port which is quite uncommon for mid-range offering in 2019.
Vivo V15 vs. Vivo V15 Pro: Verdicts
With Rs. 5,000, you can buy the Vivo V15 Pro with a better 48MP primary sensor, better chipset, RAM & memory but smaller and LCD display compared to the 6.59-inch Super AMOLED panel on the V15. If you are a fan of an in-display fingerprint sensor, the Vivo V15 Pro is obviously the better choice as well. Despite having a lower price tag, the V15 is still better than the Vivo V15 Pro in some aspects. So you just have to list out what you need and see which one offers them better.
