In the last few weeks, Vivo is reportedly planning to launch a new series called Vivo S in the Chinese market in the recent future. The first handset in this series is tipped to launch under the name Vivo S1. While it still stays in the dark for now, the Chinese company is said to be preparing to launch the Vivo S series smartphone in the Indian market also.
As told by a Vivo executive in India, the Chinese phone maker will most likely release the Vivo S series smartphone in the Indian market via online retail channels only. To recall, other phones under the Vivo brand have been offered via both online and offline channels. By introducing this Vivo S phone series, the company is probably trying to compete against Xiaomi, Realme, and other brands in the segment between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000 in the online market.
The mentioned source also said that the specs and features of this upcoming Vivo S1 should be similar to the recently-released Vivo V15, which will be up for sale in the Indian market on 15 March for Rs. 22,990 price tag. However, this new Vivo S1 is tipped to come at an aggressive price of below Rs. 15.000. Therefore, it should be safe to assume that the S1 will come with some features like an elevating front camera, a triple camera system on the rear, and also an edge-to-edge screen with a dewdrop notch on top. As mentioned, previous reports suggested that this new S1 will come with similar features like the Vivo V15.

If those reports are accurate, the forthcoming Vivo S1 will launch in Vivo’s home country on 19 March along with some new devices on the Vivo X series. However, the availability of this handset in the Indian market is still unknown for now. We will update as soon as we hear more about it.
