After many teasers and leaks, Redmi finally announced its Redmi K20 series in its home market China. The series comprises of two smartphones called Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. While the former is a mid-range offering, the latter is launched with flagship-level features for an affordable price. The Redmi K20 Pro is packed with the powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC and a triple camera setup on the rear. It is regarded as a "flagship killer" and will compete against the newly-launched OnePlus 7.

While Redmi hasn't launched the Redmi K20 Pro in India yet, it already made its debut in China so we can use it for comparison. Its base option with 6GB of RAM + 64GB of storage is retailed at CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 25,100). Meanwhile, the top options with 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 30,100).

The prices of the OnePlus 7 are significantly higher than the Redmi counterpart. Its base variant with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage is priced at Rs. 32,999. You can purchase the top end variant with the same 8GB RAM / 256GB storage as the Redmi K20 Pro for Rs. 37,999.

Unlike the Pocophone F1, the Redmi K20 Pro is very well-designed. It has a bezel-less and full-screen design as well as a glass sandwich design. On the front, there is a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel that is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 6. As for the OnePlus 7, it has a slightly smaller 6.2-inch AMOLED panel with a water-drop notch. Software-wise, the Redmi K20 Pro boots Android 9.0 Pie with Xiaomi's MIUI 10 on top, whereas the OnePlus 7 runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.

In terms of camera, the Redmi K20 Pro has a triple camera setup while the OnePlus 7 only comes with dual cameras on the rear. The same goes for the Redmi K20 Pro in terms of battery. It has a large 4,000 mAh battery while the OnePlus 7 is fueled by a 3,700 mAh cell. The Redmi offering also has a faster 27W fast charging solution compared to the 20W on the OnePlus device. Both phones don't support wireless charging feature despite them having glass rear panels. In addition, they also don't come with an IP rating as well. For security, they have the same on-screen fingerprint reader.

Overall, the Redmi K20 Pro offers higher value for the money than the OnePlus 7. It has a bigger full-screen display, large battery, and battery cameras.
