In the crowded budget smartphone lineup of Xiaomi, the Redmi 9 Power is between the Redmi Note 9 and the Redmi 9 Prime. The smartphone comes with a wide array of features including a Full HD+ display, a 48MP camera stack, fast charging, and a massive 6,000mAh battery. However, it is held back by not so great performance and MIUI.
Redmi 9 Power Release Date
Xiaomi released the Redmi 9 Power in India on December 17th, 2020.
Redmi 9 Power Price In India
In India, there are two variants of the Redmi 9 Power. The base one has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Redmi 9 Power price in India for this variant is Rs 10,999. Meanwhile, at Rs 11,999 is the variant with 128GB of internal storage. Consumers can purchase the device on Amazon. There are four color options: Blazing Blue, Mighty Black, Fiery Red, and Electric Green.

Redmi 9 Power Design
In terms of design, Xiaomi has a new approach with the Redmi 9 Power. Instead of a mundane look, the company decided to try a different finish for the rear panel. As a result, the Redmi 9 Power has a textured finish which, according to Xiaomi, is Aura power design. If you look at the back of the phone, it has a radial pattern looking like a light wave that comes from the edge of the camera module. As the light falls, the detail changes.

However, the textured pattern doesn’t deliver the best in-hand grip. Despite having a massive battery, the device’s weight is kept lower than 200 grams. The Redmi 9 Power weighs 198 grams. It is just as heavy as the Redmi Note 9. Xiaomi does a great job here with the weight distribution.
On the right side is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. When you use the phone with one hand, you can easily reach the button. And the fingerprint scanner works flawlessly. The volume rocker is right above the power button. On the left is a SIM card tray.

The 3.5mm headphone jack and the IR blaster are at the top while the speaker and the Type-C port is on the bottom. On the front is a Full HD+ display and a selfie camera housed in a dew-drop notch. At the back is a quad-camera setup.
The overall body of the device is plastic. The outer frame is pretty well-built. It feels nice and doesn’t feel cheap at all.
Redmi 9 Power Display
The Redmi 9 Power comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and a peak brightness of 400 nits. Xiaomi uses Gorilla Glass 3 for display protection. The screen also has TÜV Rheinland low blue light emission certification.

The display supports reading mode, sunshine mode, and color temperature adjustment. The Redmi 9 Power is Widevine L1 certified, meaning that you can stream HD content on apps like Prime Video and Netflix. For the LCD standards, the display delivers crisp and vivid colors. During the testing period, there are no color shifts.
For indoor usages, the display is good while for outdoors, it is just readable. But at this price point, it is acceptable. The big Full HD+ screen combined with stereo speakers is great for watching videos. The bezels are thin on the side but are quite thick on the top and on the chin.
Redmi 9 Power Performance
The Redmi 9 Power has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, an octa-core chipset developed on an 11nm fabrication process. Adreno 610 GPU will take care of the device’s gaming and graphics performance. This is the only device in the Redmi 9 series to have a Snapdragon Chipset.

In India, the Redmi 9 Power has two variants. One with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The other has 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of performance, the phone struggles when switching between apps. Apps don’t run in the background even it is just a few seconds. When using 2 to 3 apps regularly, the device feels sluggish. As for gaming, the smartphone can handle fairly well games like CoD Mobile, Asphalt 8, and Real Racing.
Redmi 9 Power Software
The device runs on MIUI 12 on top of Android 10. The skin is heavy. However, it is customizable. The system animations are quite smooth.
Redmi 9 Power Camera
The Redmi 9 Power is equipped with a 48MP Samsung GM1 main camera with an aperture of f/1.79, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a field of view of 120 degrees, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0.

Redmi 9 Power Battery
The device has a 6,000mAh battery, the biggest battery ever used on a Xiaomi device. 18W fast charging is also supported. Inside the box, you will get a 22.5W charger.
The device lasts around one and a half days before you need to charge it. With medium usage, it can even last two days. Charging the device takes over three hours.
That is all the information that we have got regarding the Redmi9 Power release date, price, and specs. We hope that it can help you decide whether to spend your money on the device or not.
