The Nokia 9 PureView is, by far, the most high-tech smartphone that the company has made.

Nokia released the phone some months ago and will launch it in India this month, which sports five rear cameras. One problem, the phone has a concerning security flaw.

In particular, there have been problems with the Nokia 9 PureView’s fingerprint scanner since the latest update numbered 4.22c several days ago. While the company didn’t mention this in the changelog, the update was supposed to upgrade the performance of the fingerprint reader. Unfortunately, things get worse.

The phone can be unlocked with two different fingerprints

Straightforwardly, the fingerprint scanner is useless. For one, it appears that the phone will unlock with just a single fingerprint registered, it unlocks for any finger.

Worse, the scanner seems to be cheated easily with another person’s fingerprint that’s not registered or even with a pack of chewing gum.

Many people have brought the issue to social media, one of whom even said that they have talked with Nokia support over a few weeks but the company shows no sign of fixing the trouble. Meanwhile, a Reddit user they could unlock the phone with a finger covered with a T-shirt.

Considering the seriousness of this flaw, Nokia had better fix it as soon as possible because it sucks to have a phone that unlocks with any random fingerprint.
