Nokia 8.1 In India: Expected Specifications, Launch Date, And Price

Nokia 8.1 is expected to be released in the Indian market on 28 November 2018. A report has revealed the launch date of this much-awaited phone and its price tag in the Indian market. According to the report, its price will be around Rs. 23,999 and its release date will be late November.

This possible price tag may be competitive with other popular phones like Honor Play (Rs. 19,999) and Xiaomi Poco F1 (Rs. 20,999) in the price range of below Rs. 25,000. Similar to other Nokia phones in India, this upcoming Nokia 8.1 is believed to have a stock Android version, being in the Android One program.

Even though HMD Global has not sent any official invites for the Nokia phone’s launch, 91Mobiles claims that this new Nokia phone is about to launch in India very soon. In China, the Nokia X7 was just launched on October with mid-level specs and a similar design to the previous Nokia phones.

The phone’s specs were already revealed on Geekbench to have similar specs to the X7 of Nokia. But there is a major difference which is the Android 9.0’s presence on the upcoming phone in India. After that, this phone was also spotted on AR supported device list of Google.

Price of Nokia 8.1 in the Indian market

Its price in the Indian market will be around Rs. 23,999, according to the report, for the highest model (128GB storage/6GB of RAM). The newly launched Nokia X7’s price in China was set at 1,699 CNY (around Rs. 17,700) for the lowest model (4GB of RAM/64GB storage) and 1,999 (Rs. 20,900) for the (6GB of RAM/64GB storage) model. Customers will have four color options for this phone which are Night Red, Dark Blue, Night Black, and Magic Night Silver.

Expected specs of the Nokia 8.1

If this phone is actually the Nokia X7’s global variant, then the specs of the Nokia 8.1 will be pretty much the same as the Nokia X7. It will run a stock Android Pie and have a 6.18-inch screen with full HD resolution and 18.7:9 aspect ratio along with a 2.5D curved glass. It will also be equipped with a Snapdragon 710 SoC and 4GB to 6GB of RAM and also 64GB to 128GB of internal storage. And the storage can be expandable via the microSD slot (400GB maximum).

In terms of camera, it probably has a dual rear camera setup with a primary 12MP sensor and also a secondary 13MP sensor. Its front camera spec if 20MP with f/2.0 aperture and also fixed focus. The battery capacity is most likely 3,500 mAh, with fast charging support.
