Nokia 6.2 Arrives In India With Snapdragon 636 Chipset And Dot Notch Display

HMD Global has launched the Nokia 6.2 in India, alongside a few Nokia-branded smartphone models, such as Nokia 8. It is known that the phone was first unveiled along with Nokia 7.2 at the IFA 2019 last month. The phone features a higher screen-to-body ratio due to a bigger battery, dot notch display, and improved camera module. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 636 chipset as the predecessor. The phone features a high-end appearance made of a polymer composite which is tipped to be double the strength of polycarbonate, but lighter than aluminum.
Nokia 6.2: Availability, Price

The new phone is priced at Rs. 15,999 in India. Interestingly, HMD Global has introduced the 4GB of RAM variant in this market while the global variant just has 3GB of RAM. The handset is available in two color options including Ice and Ceramic Black via Amazon India. Additionally, HDFC Bank Debit cardholders will receive a 10% cashback of up to Rs. 2,000 on a purchase of at least Rs. 3,000 when buying the phone. And those that have HSBC cashback cards will get a 5% instant discount. The company also offers a discount of up to Rs. 9,400 and no-cost EMI options.
Nokia 6.2: Specifications
Nokia 6.2 flaunts a 6.3-inch Full HD+ PureView screen with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective layer and HDR 10 PureDisplay. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset under the hood, coupled with 4GB of RAM + 64GB expandable storage, and an Adreno 509 GPU.

On the back, the phone has a circular triple rear camera module including a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP wide sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor with an LED flash. For selfies, the phone comes with an 8MP selfie sensor. Also, the handset features face unlock and a fingerprint sensor for security on the rear panel.

Other connectivity options of the phone are USB-C port, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wifi, and 4G VoLTE. The phone is packed with a 3,500 mAh cell. In terms of software, the handset runs Android 9.0 Pie at launch and is expected to have an Android 10 update before late-2019.
