Nokia 5.3 will be the next cheap smartphone launched by HMD Global. This is not just a cheap smartphone but will have very noticeable features and specifications. For example, It will carry a cluster of four cameras with a new design on the back.
Several real-life images of the Nokia 5.3 smartphone have been revealed by NokiaPowerUser. We can clearly see the design of the front and back, and confirm that the back of the phone is entirely made of plastic rather than glass. Plastic casing helps reduce costs and increase the durability of the smartphone.
The back design of the Nokia 5.3 is quite fancy. We can see the circular camera cluster, with four lenses placed at four corners, surrounded an LED flash in the middle. That camera placement and module could be the reason why this phone is codenamed ‘Captain America’. The camera cluster consists of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Below the camera module is a fingerprint reader for biometric security.
Meanwhile, the front design is nothing special. There is a 6.6-inch screen with waterdrop design. The bezels are quite thick with the bottom edge being slightly thicker and housing a Nokia logo.
A significant improvement in this phone over its predecessor is the chipset. The Nokia 5.3 will be equipped with Snapdragon 665 chipset while the mid-range Nokia 6.2 is equipped with Snapdragon 636 chipset, which is outdated and less powerful.
The smartphone will pack at least 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, which can be further expanded with a memory card. Besides, there will be a more powerful version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
The Nokia 5.3 will be pre-installed with the latest Android 10 out of the box while it is said to have the fuel from a 4,000 mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be released on March 19 at a price of 169 EUR in Europe, and 180 USD in the US, which is equivalent to around Rs. 13,300.
