Last night, HMD introduced its first 5G smartphone called Nokia 8.3 5G. In addition, the company also launched a series of new smartphones, for both mid-range and low-cost segments.

Nokia 8.3 5G: Price & Availability
The retail price of Nokia 8.3 5G will be 599 Euro (around Rs. 48,300) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version or 649 Euro (around Rs. 52,400) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB memory model. The company says the device will begin shipping this summer.
Nokia 8.3 5G: Specifications & Features
Despite lagging behind rivals like Samsung and OnePlus in launching 5G devices, HMD claims its first 5G smartphone will support more 5G bands than its competitors, meaning that it will support 5G bands in more countries. Perhaps so, HMD claims its new smartphone as "the first true 5G smartphone globally."

The device has a quad-camera setup on the back, with a 64MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 24MP selfie camera.
In addition, another highlight of the device is its 6.81-inch screen with FHD+ (2400 x 1080p) resolution with the ability to convert SDR content to HDR. The phone has aluminum chassis with glass cover both front and back. Although equipped with a large screen, the fact that HMD Global still uses the LCD panel on this phone is a bit disappointing.
Not equipped with the high-end Snapdragon 865 SoC, but HMD's 5G smartphone is still a powerful smartphone with the mid-range Snapdragon 765G along with 6 / 8GB of RAM and 64 / 128GB of storage. The whole package is fueled by a 4,500 mAh battery that charges with 18W fast charging technology over a USB Type-C port. Being an Android One smartphone, the handset runs on stock Android 10 and is guaranteed to get 2 years of upgrades as well as 3 years of monthly security updates.
Nokia 8.3 5G price: around Rs. 48,300
