Last month, Vivo Communication Technology Co. Ltd launched the Y15 smartphone in its new Y-series in India. Here we'll compare the Vivo Y15 against the Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Realme 3 Pro on aspects like display, performance, camera, and battery.

Price In India
The Redmi Note 7 Pro with 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage variant is available at Rs 13,999 in India. Meanwhile, the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant is available at Rs 16,999. Like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Realme 3 Pro comes in two variants, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The standard variant of the Realme 3 Pro is priced at Rs 13,999 and the price for the 128GB onboard storage is Rs 16,999. On the other hand, the Vivo Y15 comes in only one variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM at the cost of Rs 13,999.
Display And Performance
Xiaomi's Redmi Note 7 Pro features a large 6.3-inch Dot Notch display. The phone gets an IPS LCD full HD plus display with the resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. For the performance, the phone packs the 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core SoC, featuring an Adreno 612 GPU coupled with 6GB RAM. The smartphone is available with up to 128GB onboard storage. But the company does not offer a MicroSD card slot. Regarding software, the handset gets the latest Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10

Regarding the display of the Realme 3 Pro, it touts the Dewdrop Notch display, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Full HD+ screen measures 6.3 inches and has a resolution of 1080 x 2340. The handset features a 90.8% screen-to-body-ratio. It is powered by 10nm Snapdragon 710 AIE octa-core SoC with an Adreno 616 GPU, offering up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Unlike the Redmi Note 7 Pro, this device offers a dedicated tray for a microSD card for further storage expansion of up to 256GB. The phone gets Android Pie which is customized with Realme's own ColorOS 6.0 UI.

The Vivo Y15 offers an IPS LCD HD+ Holo FullView display, that measures 6.35 inches with 720 x 1544 resolution. The phone packs the 12nm Helio P22 8-core chip from MediaTek, and its graphics processing relies on the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The phone only comes in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage variant. Vivo Y15 also offers a microSD card slot which let users to further expand storage by up to 256GB. It runs on the Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.

Though the Vivo Y15 sports the largest display, its resolution is disappointingly low and its performance seems not impressive either due to a much less powerful set of chips.
Camera and Battery

Redmi Note 7 Pro sports the most impressive camera in this price segment. It gets the AI dual rear camera setup, which includes a 48MP and 5MP camera with a Sony IMX586 sensor, featuring an f/1.79 aperture. This smartphone has electronic image stabilization (EIS) as well as support for a video resolution of up to 4K. In front, there is a 13 MP selfie AI camera which offers different types of AI modes such as AI beautification and AI studio lightning for clicking better selfies. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery with support of fast charging. The phone maker also offers an 18W charger in the shipment box.

The Realme 3 Pro comes with a 16MP + 5MP AI dual rear camera setup, its primary lens uses Sony IMX519 sensor, featuring an aperture of f/1.7. There is the Super Nightscape mode for low light photography. On the front, there is a 25MP selfie camera, which is also an AI camera with AI beautification and the handset comes with the latest face unlock technology. The smartphone houses a 4,045mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

The Vivo Y15 is equipped with a 13MP primary lens, a 2MP depth-sensing camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera. It is the only phone amongst the three to sport a triple camera set up at the back. The top notch on the phone screen houses a 16MP selfie lens with an aperture of f/2.0. Battery life is an aspect where Vivo Y15 is the winner. The handset comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery, which is more than enough. But unlike Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro, Vivo Y15 doesn't support fast charging.

Verdict
If we talk about the camera performance, Vivo Y15 offers triple camera setup on the back side, but it isn't as impressive as Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro. The Realme 3 Pro's 25MP selfie camera may click better selfies than the other two. As mentioned above, the Y15 offers the largest battery among the three, but it does not support fast charging, which might be disappointing for some customers.
So, if you love photography, then get the Redmi Note 7 Pro with 48MP primary camera and 5MP secondary lens at the rear side and if you want to play games with high graphics setting, you should consider the Realme 3 Pro which comes with the powerful 10nm Snapdragon 710 AIE octa-core chipset.
