Asus just launched two new phones on its ZenFone series which are ZenFone Plus M2 & ZenFone Max Shot with a dual and triple camera setups, respectively.

Asus has just added two new additions to the Asus Zenfone series, and they are the ZenFone Max Plus M2 and ZenFone Max Shot. The two devices have been announced in Brazil. One of their key highlights is that they are the first two devices to pack the new SiP (system-in-package) processors that the chipmaker Qualcomm partnered with USI (Universal Scientific Industrial) has recently developed. Additionally, they both feature the nearly identical design to each other, except for the additional camera on the triple rear camera setup of the ZenFone Max Shot.

The ZenFone Max Plus M2 is priced at 1,299 BRL (around Rs. 23,500) for the only variant with 3GB of RAM/32GB of storage. On the other hand, the ZenFone Max Shot option with 3GB of RAM/32GB of storage costs 1,349 BRL (around Rs. 24,550) while the variant with 4GB of RAM/64GB of storage is priced at 1,699 BRL (around Rs. 30,750). Both of the new smartphones are up for sale on the company’s official website in Brazil, and they come in four color options which are Red, Black, Silver, and Blue.

Both of the two handsets sport a 6.26-inch HD+ notched display and are powered by a SiP chipset built on the 14nm process which is similar to the budget offering of Qualcomm. Snapdragon 450 chipset. Unlike the SoC (system-on Chip), the SiP (system-in-package) bring every company in only one circuit, which will later go onto the motherboard. This process will make the chipset more compact and also occupy less space on the phone, allowing more space for better designs.

In the imaging department, the ZenFone Max Plus M2 sports a dual rear camera setup, including 12MP and 5MP rear cameras. Meanwhile, the ZenFone Max Shot comes with triple rear cameras which are a 12MP main sensor, 5MP depth sensor, and an 8MP sensor with a wide-angle lens. Up front, both of them have an 8MP selfie camera with a single LED flash for taking selfies and video calling.
As for the battery, they are both powered by a large 4,000 mAh cell via a micro-USB port, and they run the dated Android 8.1 Oreo at launch with an update to Android Pie in the following months. In terms of security, there is a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear on both of the handsets.
