The Asus ROG Phone 5 will be the first high-end gaming smartphone of 2021, coming next week. It seems like this will also be one of the most powerful smartphones with the highest amount of RAM. The ROG Phone 5's RAM capacity will even be higher than some of today's gaming laptops.

Recently, the handset made its appearance on the benchmark platform Geekbench. Accordingly, this smartphone is equipped with Snapdragon 888 processor and pre-installed Android 11. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 achieved a single-core score of 1,113 and a multi-core score of 3,468.
In addition to those details, the Geekbench listing also reveals that the ROG Phone 5 will come with up to 18GB of RAM. That is a very high number given the fact that today's most powerful smartphones only have 12GB of RAM, or some gaming laptops also only have 16GB of RAM.
If Asus wants to lead the hardware race against its competitors, it's likely that the ROG Phone 5 will also have a top-end version with a 1TB storage. Of course, there will also be options with lower RAM and memory capacities to suit user needs.
So far, Asus has always equipped the highest RAM and memory options for its ROG smartphone line. So it shouldn't be surprising that ROG Phone 5 uses LPDDR5 RAM and top-of-the-line UFS 3.1 memory.
The ASUS ROG Phone 3 launch will officially take place on March 10.
