Asus is boosting a teaser campaign for its upcoming Zenfone 6, which is expected to debut on 16 May on a company’s event taking place in Valencia, Spain.
The smartphone’s slogan is “defy ordinary” and it certainly looks like it judging from the outline which was shared by the company via social media channels. As per the teaser, the smartphone appears as a truly bezel-less device with notch-free design.
It clearly shows that the handset probably features a pop-up front-facing camera. However, it could also have a dual slider design instead.
Previously, the smartphone has received the FCC certification with dual rear cameras, which is said to include a 48MP primary sensor. Also, the handset will also have 18W quick charging solution support and a variant with two slots for SIM card.
As per AnTuTu, the Zenfone 6 is expected to sport a Full HD+ (2,340, x 1,080 pixels) display. Under the hood, it will be powered by a flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with 6GB RAM / 128GB internal storage. In addition, the smartphone is said to run Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. On AnTuTu benchmarks, the device scored 363,172 and also appeared on Geekbench.
Besides, the Zenfone 6 lineup is said to include 3 variants which are the successors to Zenfone 5 Lite, Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5. Rumour has it that the Zenfone 6Z variant will feature a triple rear camera setup and on-screen fingerprint sensor. Last year, Asus introduced the Zenfone 5Z and 5 smartphones at the MWC with a wider notch like the iPhone X. The Zenfone 5 was considered as an affordable device while the 5Z variant was a flagship handset. Therefore, it is likely that the Zenfone 6Z and Zenfone 6 will ship with similar display design as well.
