Play Store of Google is by far the safest as well as the biggest place for Android users to get new apps for their devices. While developers want their apps to be in the Play Store, they still need to go through a review process. The amount of time, which is necessary for Google to consider a new app in its Play Store’s approval process, has been quietly increased.
This change can help prevent threats like malware from being distributed widely in the Google Play Store; therefore, it’s beneficial for the company. Nevertheless, developers have expressed their concerns. What’s most frustrating is that the banner doesn’t appear until developers have submitted their apps for approval. On a support website, Google details that a buffer time period lasting about three days should be included when apps developers provide a new Android app.
Google didn’t warn developers properly about this tweak. The company mentioned in April that it’d be longer for applications from newly created developer accounts. However, in this instance, the developer still needed to wait for the company to approve the new app even though the account has been used since 2010.
Google will make an estimate of how long the approval process should be and place it on the dashboard for the developers, in case this new review period affects a new app. The company says:
