Fortnite Is Now Available To Download On Google Play Store

Users can finally download Fortnite from Google Play Store to their Android devices to enjoy this world-famous battle royale title.

The game used to be for PC only but in 2018, Epic Games launched it on iOS and Android devices. However, before this latest announcement about the game's distributing channel, users can only access Fortnite through the website of Epic Games.

The reason why Epic Games was reluctant about making the game available on Google Play Store was the hefty 30% cut when users made any in-app purchases.

In an official statement, Epic Games announced its decision stems from the fact that any third-party apps were put at a disadvantage by Google as it would warn users of potential security risk that may, or may not exist at all.

Last year, when Epic Games introduced its Middle East server region, it said the focus was on the Arabian Peninsula and players in that region should have highest ping.

Epic Games’ cloud computing partners base in Mumbai. The reason behind this decision is to strike a balance between the best possible experiences for those using SEA region servers and Middle East players.

This was while there were other datacenters available, Epic Games picked Mumbai as it provides the best paths to reach most of the players in the region.

Separately, the company announced a virtual music festivals featuring Travis Scott. As stated by the company, the artist would go on Fortnite performances all over the world.

Travis Scott’s new release Astronomical will also be premiered during the virtual tour.
