Alienware AW3423DW

Alienware, the gaming-dedicated subsidiary of Dell, unveiled a world’s first at CES this year - the Alienware AW3423DW monitor.

Featuring a quantum dot OLED panel, this ultra-wide gaming monitor has had the industry in a bit of spin since it was introduced at the start of the year.

For the uninitiated, OLED screens are renowned for producing unparalleled levels of contrast, including deep blacks the likes of which LCD screens cannot match. The Quantum Dot technology, meanwhile, produces super-sharp images that are vibrant and crisp.

Coming in at a substantial 34-inches, the AW3423DW possesses a 3440 x 1440 resolution that delivers an ultra-high refresh rate, leading to seamless gameplay. Make no mistake, this is a monitor for committed gamers and, when powered with a top-end PC or laptop, is perfect for Triple-A titles. We can imagine this going down well with pro gamers participating in everything from casino card and table favourites such as roulette to eSports titles like Overwatch.

Razer Blade and ASUS ROG Flow Z13

The recent saga of global chip shortages has made it difficult for PC manufacturers to produce hardware at a reasonable price, which is why gamers in 2022 are looking to laptops to meet their gaming needs. CES was filled with more than adequate models this year, but two laptop brands, in particular, stood out: Razer and ASUS.

As a dedicated gaming brand, Razer has made some of the best laptops around since 2011. Its Blades 14, 15, and 17 stand as a testament to this. These new next-gen laptops feature the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs, which promise to deliver truly stunning performance graphics-wise.

Paired with major CPU upgrades – a choice between AMD’s Ryzen 600 or Intel’s 12th-gen CPU – the Blade series is pretty hard to beat in terms of all-around performance.

Asus is coming in a close second with its ROG Flow Z13, however. Not just a gaming laptop, this beauty packs a punch with a two-in-one capability making it the “world’s most powerful gaming tablet”.

A serious tablet for serious gaming, the Z13 is powered by a juicy Intel 12th Gen CPU, and features a 4K/60Hz display.

Hyte Keeb SR65

No gaming set-up would be complete without top-of-the-line peripherals, and this year Hyte has the honour of producing the best mechanical keyboard for gaming in 2022. The peripherals division of bespoke PC builder iBuyPower, Hyte is quickly establishing itself as the go-to brand for unique and functional keyboards, mice and other input devices.

Delivering all that the brand has become known for and more, the Keeb SR65 features a beveled 65% form factor, ergonomic contouring, high-definition RGM screen mirroring capabilities, and an oversized dual-scroll wheel.

It’s the gorgeous Base that sets it apart from the competition, however. Comprised of adaptive RGB lighting, as the brand says this keyboard won’t be “just another rectangle” on your gaming desk.

Quell

Let’s face it, the concept of playing video games to get fit and healthy isn’t exactly breaking new ground. Sports and fitness-focused gaming has been popular since the mid-2000s, but Quell has managed to update the concept for a new decade.

A fully-immersive fitness gaming console, Quell is composed of a gaming platform and dedicated fitness wearables. No ordinary smartwatch, Quell’s wearables include a chest unit, belt, and wrist wraps, all of which utilize accelerometers and gyro meters to track speed, accuracy, endurance, and power in real-time.
