Google Maps Is Working With Lime To Encourage More People To Use Electric Scooters And Bikes

Lime's rental electric vehicles now appear on Google Maps app as the new choice of transport for commuters.

This summer, Google invested in Lime with $335 million for its popular electric scooters and bicycles.

Furthermore, from December 13, e-bikes, e-scooters, and pedal bikes will be an option for transportation on Google Maps. This is another action of Google to encourage more people to use Lime's electric vehicles.

Lime and Google Maps are currently providing traffic solutions such as metro, ride-sharing, and buses. Google Maps will integrate with Lime's own network, displaying the rental facilities nearby, convenient for people to move. The fact that Google Maps is partnering with Lime has made it possible for people to increase the use of electric vehicles, reduce environmental pollution, and facilitate mobility. It also contributes to reducing traffic congestion during peak hours.

It supports on both iOS and Android devices

Lime's means of transportation as a means of reaching the final destination to shorten the time and distance between other forms of mobility. Specifically, Google has given an example: You have only 7 minutes from the boarding to go to the important meeting on time. It takes you 15 minutes to walk or wait for the bus, or wait 10 minutes for a ride-sharing vehicle. Whichever you choose, you are late for the meeting. So the purpose of the collaboration between Google Maps and Lime is to provide better ways to move within distances that are not too close or too far away.

There are many companies that offer electric scooter rental services, but Lime has shown its prominence in the crowd by providing a combination of electric scooters, pedal, and electric bikes.

Just $1 to unlock and another small fee per minute and you can use every Lime's bike and scooter. Each transportation is priced differently, electric scooters cost $0.15/minute, pedal bikes cost $0.05/minute and electric bikes cost $0.10/minute.

The Google Maps app offers a wide variety of options in Lime's ultra-portable mobile vehicles, including electric scooters, pedal-only, and electric bikes. It also estimates the time and cost of the trip, including walking time to get your Lime vehicle and ETA.

This feature will work on all Android and iOS devices. By clicking on the Lime option on the Google Maps application, all of the exact locations of Lime's vehicles available nearby will be displayed on the map.

Displays the location of the nearest Lime's vehicles and includes the travel time there

Up to 13 cities will be using Google Maps to incorporate Lime's electric bike and scooters, including Auckland, San Diego, Oakland, Baltimore, Indianapolis, San Antonio, Scottsdale, Brisbane, San Jose, Dallas, Seattle, Austin, Los Angeles.

Demand for electric scooters is increasing and prices are becoming increasingly affordable. But Lime wants to give people who need to rent transportations in the quickest and easiest way, instead of buying a whole new $270 electric scooter.

Google hopes that the collaboration between it and Lime will succeed, contributing to the expansion and development of Lime. Google does not want Lime to become one of the electric mobility companies that have abandoned the game and are scattered on both sides of the road of electric scooters success.

The partnership between Google Maps and Lime is a triumph for Lime, which broadens the company's use of electric bikes and scooters. We can not deny the convenience it provides in some cases. These options are great for the customer but there are concerns for other electric scooter and bike companies.

To create a place in the market, electric micro-mobility and scooters must always make a difference in themselves. They try to grasp the competitive advantage any price so that this feature integrates with Google Maps will help Lime catch up with opponents in a very short time in the future.

The number of users of Bird and Lime is expected to increase in the near future

Meanwhile, Bird also is also planning to introduce a new industrial scooter grade as well as all-day rental services, Lime's monopoly appearance in Google Maps will help these two companies appear more on the credit report of commuters in the city in the near future.
