Mobile gaming industry
As a matter of fact, one-third of all downloads from mobiles were games. This led to another expected fact, saying 10% of our time spent on mobiles was to play games.
Nowadays, according to the same study, the mobile gaming industry is growing at a steady rate of 10% annually. This comes from the huge player community and the fast-growing users base. In particular, from markets that are less mature with a majority of first-time smartphone users.
Expanding the players base
In fact, mobiles have acted as the platforms that expand the age variety of gamers in the players base. Clearly, mobiles get rid of the demand for gaming-specific hardware. Moreover, mobiles provide free games, alongside the convenience and simplicity in downloading games to a personal device. In fact, the report pointed out that people at 25 or older played games the most among other age groups.

According to App Annie, both Google Play and App Store saw an increase of 15% year-after-year in gaming spending. Mobile gaming now plays a bigger part than either PC, consoles or handheld consoles. As a matter of fact, it accounts for 20% larger than the combination of all other channels.
