53 Apple Stores Closed Again Due To The COVID-19 Pandemic

Apart from official reports from the government as well as other authorized entities, there are other ways to see how serious the COVID-19 pandemic has got. In this case, we are talking about Apple Store closures. The iPhone maker was among the first major retailers to shut down its stores in the pandemic. Since then, Apple has reopened and closed its retail stores corresponding to the fluctuation of the infection tally.

On Saturday, according to 9to5Mac, Apple closed all of its stores in California, US, 53 ones in total. As of Sunday, this state reported over 1.8 million COVID-19 cases along with mover 22,500 deaths. Apple also closed its stores in several other states.
It’s also confirmed on Apple’s website that another dozen stores have been closed in other states because of an increase in the number of coronavirus cases. Meanwhile, according to Reuters, Apple has closed 16 Apple Stores across the United Kingdom. It also temporarily shut down multiple retail stores in other countries like Brazil, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Germany.

An Apple spokesperson said:
“Due to current covid-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas. We take this step with an abundance of caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible.”
Apple is one of the tech firms that proactively take measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers as well as to limit the spread of the pandemic.
