Ultra Affordable ZTE Blade A5 2019 Unveiled With Android 9 Pie & 5.45-Inch HD+ Display

Early this month, China-based ZTE announced a new smartphone in the ZTE Blade series called Blade A7 in China. And now, the brand unveiled another addition to the series dubbed ZTE Blade A5 2019 in Russia. The budget handset sports an 18:9 screen and ships with Mi Favor UI at launch which is based on Android 9 Pie.

The handset’s price in Russia is set at 6,490 RUB (around Rs. 6,900). It is now available for sale via e-commerce sites in Russia in Blue and Black color options. The availability of the phone in outside markets includes India haven’t been revealed yet.

The handset is launched in the entry-level segment with a plastic body. The phone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ TFT panel with a 720 x 1,440p resolution. Powering the phone is an Unisoc (Spreadtrum) SC9863A processor clocked at 1.6 GHz paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

In terms of camera, the new Blade A5 2019 sports a single 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, Panorama, HDR, and a single LED flash. On the front, there is a single 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 lens. Under the hood, it is fueled by a 2,600 mAh battery. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE. For security, the phone has support for Face Unlock feature instead of a fingerprint scanner.
To recall, the ZTE Blade A7 was launched earlier in the year with a 6.0-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch. It is powered by an MTK Helio P60 SoC paired with 3GB RAM + 64GB storage. Its cameras include a 16MP shooter on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Other features include a 3,200 mAh battery and Face Unlock support.
