Xiaomi has finally brought the Redmi Note 9 to India. The handset was previously released in China under the name Redmi 10X 4G. This phone is the third addition to the Redmi Note 9 series, after the Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max launched in March. The highlights of the phone include a beefy battery with fast charging support, a tall display, and 48MP quad rear cameras.
Redmi Note 9: Price in India & Availability
The Redmi Note 9 price is set at Rs. 11,999 in India for the 4GB + 64GB model. You can also pay Rs. 14,999 to get the 6GB + 64GB variant. The Redmi Note 9 first sale in India will start at 12 p.m IST on July 24th on Mi Home, Amazon India, Mi.com, and multiple partnered offline stores. Arctic White, Aqua Green, and Pebble Grey are three color variants of the phone.
Redmi Note 9: Specifications & Features
On the front, the device sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel, featuring a water-drop notch at the top, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5, and FHD+ resolution. The device has a p2i nano-coating for water resistance. Under the hood, it draws power from an Helio G85 chipset, along with 4/6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It also packs 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage for both models and has a dedicated microSD card slot if users want to further expand the phone’s storage.
The phone is pre-loaded with Android 10-based MIUI 11 to take care of the software side of things. For photography, it uses four cameras at the back and a single a 13MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The rear camera setup consists of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 118-degree viewing angle, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP portrait camera.
Just like its siblings, the Redmi Note 9 is packed with a 5,020 mAh battery, supporting 22.5W fast charging solution (charger included in the box) and 9W reverse charging feature. For security, you can unlock the phone using either Face Unlock feature or the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other features of the Redmi phone includes 1216 linear speaker, headphone jack, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, IR Blaster, GPS, USB-C port, dual SIM slot, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
