Unlike its predecessors, the Redmi K40 series comes with three models in the lineup, including Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+.

Redmi - Xiaomi's sub-brand has finally launched the Redmi K40 series in China, consisting of Redmi K40, K40 Pro, and K40 Pro +. All three of these phones have similar designs and specifications, except for some upgrades in the Pro and Pro+ models.

Redmi K40 series: Price & Availability

Redmi K40 price:

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 25,000)
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,199 (around Rs. 24,800)
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 28,100)
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 2,699 (around Rs. 30,400)

Redmi K40 Pro price:

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,799 (around Rs. 31,500)
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 33,800)
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 3,299 (around Rs. 37,200)

Redmi K40 Pro+ price:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 3,699 (around Rs. 41,700)

The vanilla K40 will hit the stores on March 4, while the two top-end versions, the K40 Pro and the K40 Pro+, will be available for sales at the end of March.

This vanilla model is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 screen, supporting Full HD + resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The device uses a punch-hole design with a tiny 2.76mm cut-out in the center and ultra-thin bezels.

Inside, the handset has the hardware power from the Snapdragon 870 processor, combined with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card. It comes with a 4,520mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging via a USB-C port.

Moving to the back, the phone gets a 3-camera system arranged vertically and placed in a rectangular module, including a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP macro camera. On the front, the device has a 20MP camera for taking selfies and video calling.

The K40 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, Dolby Atmos technology, Hi-Res Audio, and is IP53-certified for water resistance. The device supports 2 SIMs with 5G network connectivity, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and is pre-installed with Android 11-based MIUI 12.

As for the K40 Pro and K40 Pro +, both of these phones feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1300 nits of brightness. They are equipped with the top-end Snapdragon 888 chipset, combined with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

In terms of camera, K40 Pro is also equipped with three cameras on the back, which are a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP super wide-angle camera, and a 5MP macro camera. Meanwhile, the main camera on the K40 Pro+ is upgraded to Samsung's 108MP HM2 sensor.

Both devices have an in-display fingerprint reader, a 32MP selfie camera on the front, and a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging support via USB-C port.
