Xiaomi Redmi 9 is already available for sales in multiple markets and the handset arrived in India earlier this month under the name ‘Redmi 9 Prime’, which is quite confused to many users. However, it seems like Xiaomi released the phone in a different name because it has a plan on using the moniker ‘Redmi 9’ for a different phone. The Chinese phone maker and Amazon have just teased the arrival of the Redmi 9 in India on 27th August.

Xiaomi Redmi 9: Expected Specifications & Features
Ahead of the official launch, full specs and renders of the handset have just been revealed, thanks to leakster Sudhanshu. The device will come in three color options, including Blue, Black, and Orange. From the teaser, we at least know that Amazon India will be one of the stores offering this phone.
According to Sudhanshu, the device will come with a 6.53-inch HD+ panel, featuring a water-drop notch at the top for a selfie shooter. Powering the phone is said to be an Helio G35 chipset, aided by 2 / 3GB of RAM and 32 / 64GB of storage. However, the tipster can’t confirm these, so you should take it with a grain of salt. The device will run on Android 10-based MIUI 12 and feature dual 13MP + 2MP camera setup at the back.
There will be a 5MP camera on the front for picturing selfies and video calls and a 5,000mAh battery under the hood, supporting 10W charging technology. Some other features include dual-SIM support, headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. If these leaked specs are to be believed, this upcoming phone could be the rebranded Redmi 9C.
