OPPO A53 Arrives With New Chipset & 90Hz Display, India Launch Confirmed

The OPPO A53 is a new budget phone that features impressive specs like 90Hz display, the new Snapdragon 460 SoC, 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and more.

OPPO A53 has just been quietly launched in Indonesia, as the first smartphone in the world to use Snapdragon 460 chipset. The phone has a punch-hole design, triple cameras on the back, and a 90Hz screen, but retailed at a selling price of only 169 USD (around Rs. 12,600).

The handset is already available for pre-order in Indonesia and is expected to be available on August 26. The phone has only one memory configuration option: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, sold for $ 169 USD (around Rs. 12,600). Users can choose between two color variations, Electric Black and Fancy Blue.

OPPO India’s Twitter has also confirmed that the OPPO A53 India launch will take place on 25 August, so you won’t have to wait for too long.

The new budget phone sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display, featuring HD + resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display also has a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole at the upper left corner to house a 16MP selfie camera.

The OPPO's new budget phone has a polycarbonate plastic back panel, with a vertically-placed triple camera array. The rear camera setup includes a 16MP main sensor, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP portrait camera.

Under the hood, the phone gets a Snapdragon 460 chipset, aided by 4GG RAM and 64GB storage, expandable up to 256GB storage. The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging over a USB Type-C port.

Other specs of the OPPO A53 include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The device is pre-installed with Android 10-based ColorOS 7.2.
