Yesterday, Xiaomi revealed the Mi Mix Alpha, a 5G phone with unbelievable design and an AMOLED screen surrounding the body, which the company called "4D Surrounding Curved Display." With this design, the screen-to-body ratio is up to 180.6%, and there are no bezels. The device has been getting a lot of attention with its unique design.

While this design is drawing people's attention because of its uniqueness, some may find it very familiar, especially to Apple. That's because, in 2015, Apple was granted a patent for a similar phone design, with a curved screen surrounding the body. In addition to the patent illustration, the volume buttons appear on the side of the device, just like what Xiaomi did with the Mi Mix Alpha.
Moreover, with the notification bar and status display not appearing on top of the Home Screen, it may also have been put to the side like Xiaomi has done on this phone.

And just like Xiaomi's Mi Mix Alpha, this Apple's phone also displays content in any part of the screen. Whether located on the front or back screen as well as the side, they all correspond. After this patent, in 2018 Apple also received a patent titled "Electronics with surrounding frame", another patent related to a touch screen surrounding electronic devices.
So far, it is clear that Apple is not ready to make such devices, Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha has partly realized Apple's patent, showing users how such a design will look in real life. And if you want to experience it, you will have to pay the highest price today for a smartphone, $2,800 (around Rs. 1,99,900), which is more expensive than Samsung Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X. And there should be only a limited amount of units available for sale.
