Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, launched the Redmi Note 7 in the Chinese market, but there is already rumor saying that the phone maker is working on a new addition to the Mi Max lineup. According to a fresh full-fledged leak, the expected prices and specifications of the up forthcoming Mi Max devices have surfaced on Chinese microblogging Weibo. Based on the leak, it seems there will be a standard Mi Max 4 and a more high-end Mi Max 4 Pro. This information is from a reliable expert in the smartphone industry.
From the fresh leak, the forthcoming Mi Max 4 will most likely sport a 7.2-inch display with a water-drop notch and a thin bezel on the bottom. The front and the rear of the device will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In terms of processor, the Mi Max 4 is tipped to pack a Snapdragon 660 processor, which is an improvement from the Snapdragon 636 processor on the current Mi Max 3.
In the camera department, the only information so far is that the Mi Max 4 will sport the same 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor on the back of the Redmi Note 7. And it is quite common as the devices on the Mi Max series usually follows the specifications of the ones on the Redmi Note lineup. Additionally, the Mi Max 4 will most likely run the latest Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 and a Super Night Scene mode as well. It is tipped to pack a massive 5,800 mAh, which is slightly higher than the 5,500 mAh battery on the Mi Max 3.
The Mi Max 4 will most likely to come in three options, with the 4GB RAM/64GB storage is likely priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 16,999). The 6GB RAM/64GB storage option may cost CNY 1,799 (around Rs. 19,400), and the top-end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage might cost CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 21,400).
Moving to the more premium Mi Max 4 Pro, the new leak suggests that it will come with a Snapdragon 675 SoC and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The camera on the rear is speculated to be a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. There will also be a 20MP front camera. The only storage option we have known so far is a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model.
The leak doesn’t specifically reveal the release date of the upcoming Mi Max 4 devices. Xiaomi launched the Mi Max 3 in July last year so they might also introduced these new devices around similar time frame. However, it is quite odd that Xiaomi hasn’t even launched the Mi Max 3 in the Indian market.
