The next Xiaomi’s flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9, has just been featured in some new renders that show a nearly bezel-less design and a tiny water-drop notched display.

As can be seen on the new renders, the phone comes with nearly devoid of frames, and very thin bezels on all four sides of the phone, with the top and bottom bezels being slightly more pronounced. If this is indeed the Xiaomi Mi 9, the phone will come with a very high screen-to-body ratio with its tiny water-drop notch.

Previous leaks have suggested that the next Xiaomi flagship, Xiaomi Mi 9 will likely sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 2K screen resolution. It is speculated to come with a triple camera setup on the rear, comprising of a 48MP Sony IMX 586 main sensor, a 12MP secondary sensor, and a 3D ToF sensor.
In addition, as shown on the Mi 9 renders, there is no fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear which is in line with the previous rumors saying that the Xiaomi handset will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Chinese phone maker might use its newly improved fingerprint scanner technology that it recently introduced. It will also most likely support 3D Face ID.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi flagship will be powered by the latest Qualcomm’s flagship, the 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC, and X24 LTE modem instead of the X50 LTE modem that supports 5G connectivity.
Xiaomi is tipped to offer the Xiaomi Mi 9 in variants with up to 10GB RAM as well as 512GB storage. The handset will likely be backed by a 3,500mAh battery with 32W fast charging and without wireless charging support. The phone is tipped to be IP68 certified indicating water and dust resistance.
It is speculated that the handset will be priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 31,500) for the base variant with 6GB RAM/128GB storage. Although the Chinese company hasn’t revealed the official release date of the phone, reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will most likely be released either at the upcoming MWC 2019 or in March this year.
