Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 With 48MP Camera Released: Specs & Prices

Redmi Note 7 is the first phone to launch under the independent brand Redmi – which had announced to be separated from Xiaomi early this month at an event in China. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that it is a new step for Xiaomi, which is looking to capitalize on the success and familiarity of its Redmi brand in developing markets. Especially, to emphasize this change, there is no more Mi branding on the back of this new smartphone and it is replaced by the Redmi branding.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7: Specifications & Features

This phone is equipped with a dual rear camera, including a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor which is different from the Sony IMX586 sensor seen on the Honor View20. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC.

Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3 inches FHD+ LCD display with a water-drop notch, a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The back is designed in light colors like high-end models from Samsung and Huawei. The Redmi Note 7 is the first Redmi smartphone to feature a glass back and uses a 2.5D glass on the front as well as rear with gold, twilight black and blue color options. This budget device also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

There are also some camera features on the Redmi Note 7 such as AI beauty mode, AI portrait mode and AI features like scene recognition. The new Redmi handset also has a 13-megapixel single shooter for selfies.

The smartphone provides full connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, a USB Type-C port, IR blaster and even has a 3.5mm audio jack. It has a very powerful battery with 4,000mAh and supports quick charge 4.0. There isn’t any announcement about its availability just yet but hopefully, the smartphone is about to launch in India and other emerging markets soon.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7: Price in China

Xiaomi is offering the Redmi Note 7 in three different storage variants. The base model with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM is priced at RMB 1,399 (around Rs 14,500). The second model has 64GB internal storage and 4GB of RAM, which is priced at RMB 1,199 (around Rs 12,500). Lastly, the 32GB internal storage and 3GB of RAM option costs RMB 999 (around Rs 10,400).
