The Chinese phone maker has just officially confirmed the release date for its new Redmi 7. It will announce the handset in on 18 March in the Chinese market. Along with the Redmi 7, the company is also expected to launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro in the country as well. According to the poster from Xiaomi, the Redmi 7 will come with a nearly identical design as the recently-released Redmi Note 7. The said poster also shows that the new handset will come with a water-drop notched display with minimal bezels, dual rear camera set, dual tone design, and more.

Redmi 7 To Pack A Large Battery, Poster Suggests New Smart Home Devices As Well
Redmi President and Xiaomi CEO previously revealed some key specifications of the upcoming Redmi 7. According to them, the handset will be powered by a large battery, an IR Blaster, and an audio jack. The Xiaomi executives also said that Xiaomi will apply similar pricing to the Redmi Note 7 to this phone.

As you can see on the poster, there is pretty much no difference between the design of the Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7. As mentioned, it will have a dual tone design at the back, but it will not have a gradient touch. The most significant difference the two might be the polycarbonate body on the Redmi 7 instead of a glass back like on the Redmi Note 7.
Besides showing some details of the Redmi 7, the poster also further reveals that Xiaomi might also introduce some smart home products at the release event.
Redmi 7: Expected Specifications, Features & Pricing
The Redmi 7 will likely sport a 6.2-inch HD+ panel with a 720 x 1,520p resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, it is tipped to be powered by an octa-core SoC, paired with up for 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. The handset was previously spotted on TENAA running Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 which is based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. On the imaging front, it is expected to feature a dual camera setup on the rear with AI support. Up front, there might be an 8MP camera for taking selfies and video calling. As for the battery, it will be backed by a 4,000mAh cell, according to the TENAA listing.

Alleged Redmi 7 on a recent hand-on video
In the early of 2019, Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, already confirmed that the expected price tag for the handset should be around 7,00 to 8,00 CNY, which is around Rs. 7,200 to Rs. 8,200. However, it may be applied for the base variant with 2GB RAM/16GB storage. Additionally, there is no information regarding the global launch of the Redmi 7 including the Indian market. As its predecessor Redmi 6 came to the Indian market, there should not be any change for this one. Previously, one month after the China launch of the Redmi 6, Xiaomi launched the phone in India. The company may also follow the same time frame this time.
As the release date for the Redmi 7 is very close now. There should be more details in the next few days, so stay tuned. We will update as soon as we hear more about it.
