Redmi Go, which is the first Android Go phone from Xiaomi, has just been announced in the Indian market. The entry-level phone is the cheapest offering from the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi in the market. It already announced in January this year and launched in Philippines a couple of days after that. As it is priced at a very low price, the handset doesn’t have many highlights. Notably, the Chinese company is touting that the Redmi Go will have support for more than 20 Indian languages along with Google Assistant Hindi and Hinglish. So let’s go through all the details of this budget handset.

Redmi Go: Price, Launch Date & Launch Offers
The base variant with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage is priced at Rs. 4,499. It will come in two color options, Blue and Black and it will be up for sale via Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Flipkart from 12 p.m IST on 22 March.
Launch offers for Redmi Go buyers are up to 100GB free data and Rs. 2,200 Jio cashback.
Redmi Go: Specs & Features

The Redmi Go packs a 5-inch display with HD (1,280 x 720p) resolution. Under the hood, it runs on the quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset, paired with an Adreno 308 GPU and 1GB RAM.

You may wonder why such low RAM? It is because it runs the Go Edition of Android 8.1 Oreo which is highly utilized for phones with little RAM. So don’t worry, the handset will still run at a decent level.

In the imaging department, it sports a single 8MP camera on the rear with 1.12µm pixel size, an aperture of f/2.0 and a LED flash. The handset is claimed to be able to record FHD videos along with real-time filters, smart scene detection, and HDR features. Up front, the selfie duty will be in charge by a 5MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and 1.12µm pixel size. The selfie camera also has HDR features which is the first for an entry-level device.

The Redmi Go only has one memory configuration which is 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD slot. Buyers can upload their high-resolution photos in on Google Photos for free as well. It comes with standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, a micro-USB, dual-SIM slots, and an audio jack.
The handset measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.35mm with a weight of 137g. Powering the device is a 3,000mAh cell that is claimed to power the phone up to 10 days of standby time.
