Will Apple Produce Another Unsightly Case For The iPhone Xs?

Apple used to unveil its own battery case, namely “Smart Battery Case”, which was designed to protect iPhone 6, 6s, and 7 three years ago. However, it caused much controversy around its appearance. The case was bigger than the battery located at the center of the case, which made the phone with the case look ugly.  In fact, almost battery cases are inherently unsightly because they need a space for an extra battery and connectors.

“Smart Battery Case” has been unchanged since its launch. Therefore, Apple is preparing to launch a descendant of this case to fit iPhone X, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone XR. This information is the base of a new icon spotted by 9to5Mac in watchOS 5.1.2 beta in the battery status widget, which offers the information about the battery capacity of all connected Apple devices.

There is a difference in design between the old Smart Battery Case and its next generation. The battery in the new case is flatter and larger in terms of surface. The new Smart Battery Case also features vertical camera alignment to fit new iPhones. And the ugly chin at the bottom seems to be gone.

There is no official information about this case. In August, an IOS beta used to leak the iPad Pro with thin bezels, no home, and no notch button. If a product is made into an icon interface by Apple, it is probably already being produced. However, Apple can also withdraw the decision at the last minute so there is no certainty for the release of this case. The only thing that can be known is that Apple is taking it seriously.

About the iPhones that will come with this new battery case, iPhone X and Xs have the highest capacity because Apple seems to keep the components for the iPhone XR and the Plus or the Max models do not need a battery case.
