Vivo Is Expected To Launch Vivo V12 Pro In India In First Half Of 2019

The Vivo India’s Head of Marketing Strategy, Nipun Marya, has revealed to Today Tech in an interview that the company will soon launch the Vivo V11 Pro’s successor in the first half of next year. However, he didn’t say the device’s name, but as it is the V11 Pro’s successor, it is likely to be called Vivo V12 Pro. Nipun also added in the interview that the company usually release two smartphones in the V series each year, each phone for the first and second half of the year.

As he already revealed the release date of the V12 Pro to be in the first half of next year, the phone to be launched in the other half of 2018 might be Vivo V9’s successor, and it could come with the name of Vivo V10.

The possible specs and features of the Vivo V12

The unique selling point of the existing Vivo V11 Pro is the in-display fingerprint sensor so the V11 Pro’s successor, V12 Pro, should have the same or even upgraded in-display fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the V11 Pro was among the early smartphones to come with a water-drop notch display. So we should expect a water-drop notch on the V12 Pro, or maybe Vivo might get rid of the notch and go straight for the new hole-punch display similar to the Galaxy A8s & Huawei Nova 4.

The V11 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC while its competitors at similar price tags come with more powerful SoC, such as the Snapdragon 710 or even Snapdragon 845. And this is one of the critical reasons why Vivo hasn’t had a good sale record with the V11 Pro. So we hope that Vivo will address the issue and pack a more powerful processor in the next Vivo V12 Pro.

Besides the process issue, the Vivo V11 Pro also has a rather poor camera performance despite its Rs. 25,999 price tag and that also contributes to the poor sale figure of the V11 Pro. So if Vivo wants the upcoming V12 Pro to do well, the company must improve the camera quality.
