Vivo iQOO Pro Series Launched With Snapdragon 855 Plus & 5G Support

The series includes Vivo iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G, both of which feature a Snapdragon 855 Plus, triple rear cameras, up to 12GB RAM, and more.

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO finally unveils a new smartphone series in its home market China dubbed Vivo iQOO Pro. The lineup includes Vivo iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G at the launch event. These two phones are among the early phones to feature a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which is said to be an upgrade over the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Moreover, the iQOO Pro 5G is the first phone from the brand to support the 5G connectivity. Other highlights include an AMOLED display, liquid cooling system, and a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor.

Vivo iQOO Pro & iQOO Pro 5G: Price

The Vivo iQOO Pro is retailed at CNY 3,198 (around Rs. 32,500) for the variant with 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage. The price goes up to CNY 3,498 (around Rs. 35,200) for the 12GB of RAM / 128GB storage option.

Moving to the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, its base variant with 8GB of RAM / 128GB of storage cost CNY 3,798 (around Rs. 38,500), whereas the 8GB RAM / 256GB storage is retailed at CNY 3,998 (around Rs. 40,600). Lastly, the top-end variant with 12GB of RAM / 128GB of storage is offered for CNY 4,098 (Around Rs. 41,500). Blue and Black and the two available color variants of the duo. You can now pre-order the phone in China or wait until 29 August for the pre-sale and 2 September for the normal sale.

The brand hasn’t mentioned the availability of the two phones in other markets, including India.

Vivo iQOO Pro & iQOO Pro 5G: Specifications

The Vivo iQOO Pro and Pro 5G both feature a nearly identical design. They both come with a dewdrop notched display, a rear glass panel with glow inspired by racing cars. The camera modules are also placed at the top-right corner. The two phones are packed with a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a water-drop notch, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.7. Ticking at their cores is a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. As for the storage, the iQOO Pro has up to 256GB of storage, while the iQOO Pro 5G is only available in 128GB storage variants. One thing the standard version doesn’t have is the Snapdragon X50 modem that enables 5G support on the 5G model.

On the imaging front, the two iQOO Pro models both sport a triple camera setup at the back that comprises of a 48MP Sony IMX582 main sensor with f/1.79 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, they will feature a 12MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens. Software-wise, they both with Vivo’s FunTouchOS 9 that is based on Android 9 Pie. Fueling the duo is a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging solution. Other features are an on-screen fingerprint reader, an audio jack, and USB-C port.
