If this is indeed the device’s fault, this would be a more serious case than the Galaxy Note 7 incident which was proven to be triggered by charging the handset.

Back in 2017, the South Korean phone maker Samsung went through a horrible time when quite a few units of the Galaxy Note 7 exploded due to a battery design. The company took a massive hit in not only reputation but also profit as well, and Samsung needed a few years to pass that dark time completely. The company later launched the Galaxy Note 7 FE (Fan Edition) as a tribute to the Galaxy Note 7. However, it seems like Samsung might get into another incident where a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G user in Korea just reported that his device just exploded.
The Korean Galaxy S10 5G user whose surname is Lee went to a forum and posted the photos of his damaged device. If the translation is correct, the phone lit up by itself, and after the owner dropping the phone, it burst into flames and then exploded.
If this is indeed the device’s fault, this would be a more serious case than the Galaxy Note 7 incident which was proven to be triggered by charging the handset. This time, the Galaxy S10 5G exploded by itself. You can clearly see that the device is heavily damaged on both the front and back.
The owner also said that he immediately took the handset to a Samsung Care Center. However, the said center did not offer him a refund or a replacement for the exploded handset. This is the first time the Galaxy S10 5G exploding so hopefully this is just a one-off thing. For now, Samsung hasn’t released any official statement about this incident yet.
To recall, the handset was just launched in Samsung’s home country on 5 April, and it is said to come to Europe and the US pretty soon.
