According to research firm Counterpoint, the iPhone XR is the best-selling smartphone globally in Q3 / 2019. That means the iPhone XR is the best-selling smartphone in every quarter this year since it was also said to be the best-selling phone in other quarters this year.

The new Apple iPhone 11, launched in Q3 / 2019, was predicted by Counterpoint to rank fifth only. In fact, except for the third quarter in which the iPhone 11 lineup was announced, the iPhone XR is the best-selling smartphone since Q4 / 2018.
The iPhone XR alone contributed more than a quarter of Apple's total sales this quarter, making it the best-selling iPhone model in all regions. However, the iPhone 11 is expected to have better sales in Q4 / 2019.
The top 10 best-selling smartphones globally in Q3 / 2019 include 3 iPhones, 3 budget and mid-range smartphones from Samsung and a few Chinese brands:
- iPhone XR
- Samsung Galaxy A10
- Samsung Galaxy A50
- Oppo A9
- iPhone 11
- Oppo A5
- Samsung Galaxy A20
- Oppo A5
- Xiaomi Redmi A7
- Huawei P30
iPhone XR: Specifications & Price
The iPhone XR was first announced in 2018 alongside the more premium iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The device comes with a 6.1” LCD Liquid Retina panel with 1,792 x 828p resolution. Powering the phone is Apple’s A12 Bionic chipset with 3GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage. Software-wise, it boots iOS 13 out of the box to take care of the software side of things. The device is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance.

For photography, it comes with a single 12MP wide-angle shooter at the back with f/1.8 aperture and a 7MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. For security, it doesn’t have a fingerprint reader, so users only have Face ID for biometric security. The setup is fueled by a 2,942mAh battery that can be charged with 15W wired charging solution or Qi Wireless charging tech.
The iPhone XR is currently priced at Rs. 47,900 for the 64GB storage model, Rs. 52,900 for the 128GB storage model, and Rs. 64,900 for the 256GB storage model.
