Sony Xperia 9, which was first planned to debut at MWC 2020, has been spotted on an official listing on Samsung Hong Kong's website.

Sony is one of the manufacturers that applies a very strange naming strategy for its smartphones. Previously, the company debuted Xperia 1 in February 2019 and followed by Xperia 5 in September 2019. Before the cancellation of MWC 2020, Sony planned to launch three new smartphones at the event, including two flagships, Xperia 5 and Xperia 1.1, as well as a mid-range device called Xperia 9. Recently, rendered photos of Xperia 9 - the successor to last year's Xperia 10 - have been leaked online, giving us a clearer view of its design before its launch.
This leaked screenshot of the Sony Xperia 9 listing was posted on Reddit and it appears to be taken from Sony Hong Kong's official website. The listing suggests that the Japanese giant is about to release the phone though there is no official word from the brand.
Looking at the image above, it can be seen that the device will be equipped with a curved screen on the sides, with a very thick bezel at the top and a thin bottom chin. The top edge of the device will be home to a single selfie camera and speaker.
Meanwhile, the back of the Xperia 9 will house a triple camera cluster arranged vertically, Sony logo, and Xperia logo. All three sensors are housed in one module, while the LED flash is separately located below. If you look closely, you'll see the NFC logo is located in the middle of the upper half, a few millimeters from the camera cluster.
For now, all we know about Xperia 9 is that it will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 chipset. The other specifications and price of this handset are still a mystery.
