Samsung To Launch Galaxy S10 5G On 5 April

Samsung is set to launch its first phone with 5G network support in its home market on 5 April.

The Galaxy S10+ will soon be the second greatest phone in the Galaxy S10 series as Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S10 5G. The South Korean phone maker officially revealed the launch date of its first 5G phone on 5 April.

The phone was initially set to launch in March, but the launch was unexpectedly delayed. Even that, the Galaxy S10 5G will still launch early enough to be the first commercial smartphone with 5G network support. It will first come in the Korean market which is Samsung’s home soil, and Korea is also expected to be the first in the world to have the 5G network up and running.

Samsung will also release the handset in the US as well. It will be initially launched exclusively via Verizon. Samsung will not allow users to pre-order the phone, but buyers from 5 to 6 April will be eligible to receive a free pair of Galaxy buds and a wireless charger. Alongside that, users can also replace the phone’s screen for a 50 percent discount within the first year of purchasing. Additionally, 5G network of Verizon is said to be up on 11 April.
Samsung hasn’t revealed the exact pricing of the phone, but $1,332 is the price that market analysts suggest the Galaxy S10 5G price to be in Korea. The company is expected to charge the same price in the US.
Galaxy S10 5G: Specifications & Features
The Galaxy S10 5G is the company’s biggest flagship phone with a large 6.7-inch display (excluding the Galaxy Fold). The display is a QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. While the standard Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ both sport a triple camera setup on the rear, the Galaxy S10 5G features a quad camera system. Coupled with a 12MP main sensor with dual apertures are a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom support, a 16MP camera with an ultra-wide lens, and a 3D depth sensor. On the front, the phone has dual selfie cameras, including a 10MP sensor along with a 3D camera for depth sensing.

In the hardware department, the Galaxy S10 5G is pretty similar to other models with some differences. Varied between markets, the phone will pack either a Samsung’s Exynos 9820 chipset or a 7nm Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. On the side of the software, the handset One UI which is based on Android 9 Pie. With the fact that 5G could drain the battery faster, the Galaxy S10 5G is backed by a large 4,500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

For connectivity, the 5G version only supports one SIM with support for the 5G network. It also has some common connectivity options, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0
