After Samsung unveiled the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 last month, it has silently released the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-P205 edition. The device comes with good specifications such as Exynos 7904 SoC produced on the 14nm process, 3GB RAM, Full HD display and Android 9 Pie. Additionally, the device also has S-Pen which has the same functionality like that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

The new Samsung tablet comes in two color options including Black and Grey. It will be available for sales in the UK through Carphone Warehouse, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, New Zealand, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia. The South Korean tech giant has not revealed the tablet price in these countries. Even in India, the company has also not announced any information about the availability and price of the device.

As for the specifications of the Galaxy Tab A 8.0, the tablet sports an 8-inch WUXGA TFT screen with 1200 x 1920-pixel resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by an Exynos 7904 octa-core SoC produced in the 14nm process, paired with a Mali-G71 GPU as well as 3GB RAM. In terms of storage, the tablet comes with 32GB storage expandable to 512GB through microSD slot. Besides, the device has an 8MP camera on the back with a 5MP front-facing camera. Regarding the connectivity options, the tablet features GLONASS, GPS, an audio jack, Bluetooth 5 LE, USB-C 2.0, Wifi Direct, Wifi 802.11 ac (2.4Ghz/5Ghz), and 4G LTE (optional). Powering it is a battery with a capacity of 4,200mAh. Moreover, it runs One UI based on Android 9 Pie at launch.

Furthermore, the tablet’s camera supports AR stickers and emoji. Also, it comes with various modes like live beauty, live blur, as well as live bokeh. The camera on its back can record videos with Full HD quality. Though the device specs are quite good, it doesn’t feature a fingerprint scanner as well as Face Unlock. In terms of design, the tablet appears fine, however, it still can’t remove the bezels surrounding the display. Although the company has already made it better, it lets go of display real-estate.
For further information, Apple has recently introduced a new iPad Mini edition, and Samsung now has unveiled its upgraded Galaxy Tab A 8.0. Both devices have enough power for the tablet segment, however, the South Korean giant has not as successful as its tablets like Apple achieves with its devices.
