Samsung To Sell Its Galaxy A9 (2018) First Time In India: Price, Launch Offers, Specifications

This latest mid-range smartphone, the newest follow up of the well-known A range, was launched in India last week. This time, its camera system, which is praised for having the “first rear quad camera” of the world, can be a real game changer.

This handset is just slightly under Samsung's famous flagship S line. The A9 is a perfect opportunity for users to have access to some top-end features at a more reasonable price.

The S9 features 4 rear cameras. Two on the back include one with 2x telephoto depth sensors, andtultra-wide. As for the front camera, there is a 24MP sensor for better selfies.

It also boasts a full-HD+ Infinity Display panel with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Plus, there is Bixby voice assistant built-in with the phone.

Price of Galaxy A9 In India

This new device from Samsung comes in two variants. The one with 6GB RAM costs Rs. 36,990 while 8GB RAM mode is priced at Rs. 39,990.

Users have the choice to acquire the A9 in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink on both offline and online channels. The online platforms include Samsung Shop, Paytm Mall, Flipkart, Store, and Amazon.  Pre-booking has already available on these channels.

Holders of HDFC credit or debit cards can profit from purchasing the new top-end phone from Samsung via these cards with an aid cashback of Rs. 3,000.

Samsung has been working with Bhati Airtel to offer people who are interested in this top-spec handset a plan with even more benefits. For any S9 (2018) 6GB RAM phone bought via Airtel Online Store, there is a down payment offer of Rs. 3,690 and an Rs. 2,349 EMI. For the 8GB version, the down payment is Rs. 4,890 and the EMI is Rs. 2,449.

To add to its accessibility benefits, people who opt for the EMI option will get plan bundles, unlimited voice calls, Airtel TV’s free subscription, and national roaming.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was publically introduced to the Indian market last week. In an event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city, this top-spec phone was offered at about EUR 599 (around Rs. 47,900) and GBP 549 (Rs. 49.600).

The A9 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6/8GB of RAM. It will ship with Android Oreo as the base for running Samsung Experience UX.

It comes with a 6.3-inch FullHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

The quad camera on the back of the phone is fitted with an LED flash. Here are what make this new Samsung handset stand out: a 24MP primary sensor that goes with a f/1.7 aperture; an 8MP f2.4 ultra-wide sensor, and a 120-degree lens; a 10MP telephoto sensor that boasts a f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom; a 5MP depth sensor that goes with a f/2.2 aperture. The primary sensor takes pride in its pixel binning method that allows it to merge four pixels as one.

The front camera features a 24MP sensor and a f/2.0 aperture, which supports the Face Unlock system.

The A9 is able to notify you of flaws that would otherwise compromise the quality of your pictures so that you can make proper adjustments. These imperfections include backlight, closed eyes, and facial blur. The front camera is built in with pro-lighting and selfie focus. There is also 36 animated emojis via AR Emoji feature.

The internal storage of the Galaxy A9 can be expanded by microSD card, up to 512GB.

For connectivity, the A9 features 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, a headphone jack, NFC, USB Type-C, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. When it comes to sensors, there are an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, magnetometer, RGB light sensor, a rear finger sensor, and an accelerometer. And also it is powered by a 3,800 mAh battery with support for fast charging.
