Even though the Samsung Galaxy S21 launch is expected to take place early next year, there have already been a few details about Samsung’s next flagship series. In a previous rumor, the new lineup was said to go official as early as January next year, which is pretty unusual since Samsung usually launches its Galaxy S product line in February. Now, tech analyst John Prosser tweeted that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra on January 14 and allow pre-orders on the same day and direct purchase on January 29. They will reportedly come in multiple color options, including White, Volet, Silver, Pink, Grey, and Black.
For now, we have known a few things about the Galaxy S21 smartphones. First, from the alleged leaked renders, it seems like Samsung will give up the curved display and return to the flat screen. There will still be a rectangular camera housing at the back, with a slight change in design compared to the S20 series. All three models should be pre-installed with the latest Android 10-based One UI 3.1 and get the top-end Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 875 chipset depending on the market. You should also expect to see a 120Hz display on all three.
The premium Galaxy S21 Ultra might be equipped with five cameras at the back, including a 108MP main sensor and two telephoto lenses. There could be a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel and a 40MP selfie camera on the front. Under the hood, the phone is said to pack a beefy 5,000 mAh battery that will reportedly charge at 25W. Other features could be punch-hole design, IP68 water & dust resistance, wireless charging, and MicroSD card.
