Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus Hands-On Video: 120Hz Slightly-Curved Display & No Audio Jack

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus will have a center-aligned punch-hole at the top of its display, which is tipped to support 120Hz refresh rate.

Thanks to XDA Developers, the actual images of the upcoming Galaxy S20 Plus smartphone have been revealed. Today, we have one more hands-on video and photo confirms the 120Hz screen of the Galaxy S20 Plus.

The 13-second video confirms the design of the Galaxy S20 Plus, similar to previous rumors. In particular, we can see that the sides of the handset are not curved as much as the Galaxy S10. However, Samsung seems to be tired of its signature two-sided curved display design.

Besides, the brand has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. Meanwhile, the previous Galaxy S10 has been favored by Samsung to retain this traditional jack but has also been removed on the Galaxy Note 10.

Other details have also been confirmed, such as the Note 10's punch-hole screen, an in-display fingerprint sensor and a large rectangular rear camera setup. The design of the back of the phone is also flat, not curved too much.

Another leaked image confirms the Galaxy S20 Plus will have a 120Hz screen. Earlier, we learned that the Galaxy S20 Plus has a screen resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and a 20: 9 aspect ratio. The photo shows there are two custom modes between 120Hz and 60Hz.

The S20 Plus has a 120Hz screen along with a 60Hz battery saving option.

A source of XDA said there is a drawback: when using 120Hz mode, the screen resolution will be limited to FHD+. Higher WQHD + resolution can only work at 60Hz refresh rate. There's also no custom auto-switching between 120Hz and 60Hz modes like the Pixel 4, to help optimize the experience and save battery life.

We will know everything about the phone and its siblings when they are announced in the Unpacked Event 2020.
