Samsung Galaxy Note 10 And Note 10 Plus: What We Know So Far

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come with some omissions that may annoy hardcore fans of the company’s handset. This year is believed to be the first time we see something genuinely different with this lineup, at least in the design.

So here is every rumor, snippet, and tidbit we have heard so far about the Galaxy Note 10.

Release Date And Availability

So far, the most reliable piece of information we know about the phone is the launching date, which is set for the 7^th of August in New York.

It is believed that two devices are going to be introduced at the keynote; however, there are rumors that we will see a Galaxy Note 10 5G debut as well. If this turns out to be accurate, the launch will coincide with the introduction of the Galaxy S10 5G earlier this year.

Specifications

The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus are two flagship offers of Samsung so they will feature Snapdragon 855 chipsets. However, users in Europe will have the 7nm Exynos 9825 instead.

OnePlus 7 Pro comes equipped with a superfast eUFS 3.0 storage and rumor has it that the Note 10 lineup will feature even faster storage, meaning we may have the speed of OnePlus 7 Pro on these two phones.

Earlier this year, some leakers said that Samsung’s upcoming flagship would sport a 4,500 mAh battery’ and its smaller sibling, the Galaxy Note 10, will be fueled by a 4,100 mAh power cell. If a 5G Note 10 really makes it to reality this year, it may need an even more capable battery.

It is believed that the Note 10’s charge speed will be 25W while that of the Plus variant is expected to be 45W. The disadvantage here is users may need to pay more if they want the 45W as Samsung may include the 25W charge brick in the box.

Camera

Pictures taken by Samsung’s cameras have always had the edge in vibrancy and punchiness than those captured by Apple’s snappers. And we have reasons to believe that it will be the case again with the two upcoming models. What we are pretty sure by now is that they will come with a quad-camera setup aligned vertically in the upper left corner.

Rumor has it that these sensors will be identical to those of Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, which include a primary 12-megapixel sensor, 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and 3D Time-of-Flight depth sensor.

However, so far, we have not heard anything about the front-facing camera. There will definitely a sacrifice though, as there is only one camera cutout.

Interestingly, some people said that the S-Pen might have an onboard camera, which sounds cool enough. However, even if it is true, its images and videos will be terrible.

Design And Device Features

Previous leaks have given us most of what to expect with the design of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. The most notable difference is the double-edged swords. With this new arrival comes the omission of the Bixby button. Another possible removal is the headphone port. So users might have to use a USB-C to headphone port adapter when the 3.5 mm jack is gone.

The physical fingerprint readers will be no more with this year’s launch to make way for the ultrasonic fingerprint reader, like that of the S10.

The Note 10 is believed to feature a 6.3-inch display while that of the Note 10 Plus might measure 6.75 inches. The S-Pen will be there though, but with the departure of Bixby button, many people have said that Samsung would remove all physical buttons.

However, this projection has a slim chance of happening as it is too early in the smartphone life circle to be free of physical buttons.

Colors

The S10 has brought a slew of new colors, and Note 10 is believed to have a minimum of five gradient colors, including Lavender, Pink, Black, White, and Silver. That is not all, at different angles and lighting conditions, these finishes might display different tones.

Display

Note 10 might be the first of the Note lineup to feature an Infinity-O display. The punch hole will be relocated to the top middle of the display, and from the look of it, the selfie setup will not be dual anymore. However, we are not sure how this change may affect the quality of the images.

The screen-to-body ratio is also boosted to 90.5%. Given the size of 6.3 inches and 6.75 inches, as well as the presence of the punch hole, that is really impressive.

According to @IceUniverse, the display of the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus might champion the market this year, with the possibility of a higher refresh rate.

What The Note 10 And Note 10+ Will Not Include

Headphone port

From what we can see on renders and rumors, the Galaxy Note 10 will bid the headphone port goodbye. There has been no Samsung smartphone to do this in the past. But for fans of wired headphone, this is not good at all.

SD card support

XDA’s Max Weinbach said that only users of the Note 10 Plus would have storage expansion.

Android Q

Since Note 9 came with Android Oreo out of the box, it is highly unlikely that we will see Android Q this year on both Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. One UI 2.0 is set to be released this year too.
